KEVIN SPACEY - SPACEY MOURNS LOSS OF MOTHER

OSCAR-winner KEVIN SPACEY has been mourning the death of his mother KATHLEEN who passed away three weeks ago.

The AMERICAN BEAUTY actor was very close to his mum, who is believed to have been suffering from cancer, and was by her side when she died at a Los Angeles hospital.

Spacey's publicists have been ordered not to comment on Kathleen's death, which is thought to be the reason why the K-PAX actor did not attend the premiere of his latest film THE LIFE OF DAVID GALE.

The unmarried actor was so close to his mother that he took her maiden name as his own surname, rather than use his father's name of FOWLER.
