TOM CRUISE - SHAWSHANK ONE OF CRUISE'S FAVOURITES

TOM CRUISE attended a 10-year reunion screening of THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION on Thursday night (23SEP04) - because he counts it among his all-time favourite movies.

The MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE star excitedly arrived at the Los Angeles get-together and rubbed shoulders with MORGAN FREEMAN, who starred in the 1994 movie.

Cruise says of the film, "It's what I love in a movie. It takes you on a journey and at the end it's life-affirming."

The actor was also at the bash in support of the film's screenwriter and director FRANK DARABONT, who has written Cruise's upcoming MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III movie.
