JOELY RICHARDSON - RICHARDSON: 'MY FAMILY MADE MY CAREER DIFFICULT'

NIP/TUCK star JOELY RICHARDSON is keen to point out she has made her own way as an actress, despite being part of one of Britain's most famous theatrical dynasties.

The 40-year-old blonde has been plagued with insecurities throughout her career, as critics have constantly compared her with to her stage veteran mother VANESSA REDGRAVE, and actress sister NATASHA RICHARDSON.

Even though many believe she has succeeded as an actress through nepotism, Richardson is adamant her career has not been easy.

She says, "I think I've done really well and carved out my own niche.

"If I came from any other family people would be saying, 'Good on you,' whereas I've always had more to prove.

"People think I had everything laid out on a plate, but everything I've achieved has come despite my family rather than because of it."
