THE PIXIES - REFORMED PIXIES PLAN EUROPE AND AMERICA DATES

LATEST: Cult rockers THE PIXIES have announced the full line-up of dates for their summer (04) reunion tour.

The critically acclaimed four-piece, who split in 1993, had planned to reform for California's COACHELLA FESTIVAL in May (04), but the group are so happy with reunion plans they're planning a whistle-stop two continent tour with dates in North America and Europe.

The Pixies will play 11 American shows as a warm-up to the Coachella event and then hit the road with RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS for shows in Dublin, Ireland, and Paris, France.

Additional European dates are expected in the next few days.

The reunion tour has come as a surprise to drummer DAVID LOVERING, who has spent the six years working as a professional magician after quitting music.

He says, "I'd given up drums for a long time. I haven't played them in years and years."

Meanwhile, the importance of the MONKEY GONE TO HEAVEN hitmakers is clear on a new DVD, simply titled PIXIES, which will feature the group's music videos, a 1988 concert from London's now defunct TOWN + COUNTRY CLUB and a documentary, which includes testimonials from BONO, DAVID BOWIE and RADIOHEAD frontman THOM YORKE.
