KEANU REEVES - REEVES HAS SUPERHERO QUALITIES

CONSTANTINE director FRANCIS LAWRENCE sees superhero qualities in his heart-throb star KEANU REEVES.

THE MATRIX actor has experienced real tragedy in his personal life - his daughter was stillborn in 1999 and his ex-partner JENNIFER SYME died in a car crash in 2001 - which have given him a haunted aura similar to that epitomised by his character JOHN CONSTANTINE.

Lawrence says, "I think Keanu has a lot of John Constantine in him - just the way he is in his everyday normal life, the sort of experiences he's had, and his view on the world and on people in general is really sort of similar.

"Keanu is kind of a haunted guy and he's sort of elusive and mysterious. He's had some tragic things happen to him and I think he kind of lives that life a little bit."
