KIERA KNIGHTLEY is so scared of all the media attention she attracts, she's considered quitting acting altogether.

The PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN actress has stopped reading newspapers and magazines to avoid confronting all the harmful rumours written about her.

However, she has no choice but to carry on performing because she isn't qualified to do anything else.

The sexy says, "I don't read any magazines or newspapers any more, because I find it really scary and I get really scared when I'm followed by photographers.

"I have, on many occasions, broken down in tears because I find it terrifying. I dropped out of school when I was 16 so there's nothing else that I can do."
