British royal PRINCE HARRY has slammed reports he is too sick to continue his training at Sandhurst Military Academy in England by embarking on a tough mountaineering course.

Harry has chosen the rock climbing module over easier options such as canoeing or sailing, just days after British newspapers claimed he could be forced to leave the forces due to stomach pains.

The 20-year-old prince is currently preparing for the course and is scheduled to visit one of Britain's most gruelling mountain ranges in North Wales in December (05) to compete his training on sheer rock faces in snow bound conditions.

A royal insider says, "Prince Harry is determined to show he has what it takes to be an army officer.

"He has just chosen one of the toughest options on his course."
