British royal PRINCE HARRY will only be allowed a modest celebration when he turns 21 on 15 September (05), because his father PRINCE CHARLES is desperate for his son to rebuild his tarnished reputation.

The young royal courted controversy earlier this year when he was photographed sporting a German Army uniform and a Nazi swastika armband at a fancy dress party, and he later heaped more shame on his family when he was linked to a scuffle outside a London club after a boozy night out.

Charles is keen for the royal family to hit the headlines for the right reasons in future, and has limited his son to a low-key gathering of close friends and family.

A royal insider says, "Harry loves a good party and is very frustrated that his father has forbidden him from holding his own.

"He is angry that he is about to turn 21, an age at which he can legally make all his own decisions and yet he is still under strict instructions.

"He's apologised about the embarrassment he has caused his family in the past and he's not sure what else he can do to win back trust."

Prince Harry is currently undergoing officer training at the British Army's prestigious Sandhurst Military Academy.
