THE PIXIES - PIXIES NOT TRYING TO PLEASE FANS

Reformed rockers THE PIXIES are fiercely opposed to making music to please their loyal following - and are considering recording an album fans are bound to hate.

The DEBASER stars are intent on writing a host of new tunes, even though their fans would prefer them just to tour and not tarnish their acclaimed back catalogue.

Singer FRANK BLACK quips, "(Guitarist) KIM (DEAL)'s perspective is like, 'The fans wouldn't want us to mess around with the old repertoire by adding to it - so let's do that. F**k them!'

"She's dying to make an album of waltzes just to p**s everyone off. There's at least a little bit of rebel left in us, and Kim has most of it."
