PINK FLOYD - PINK FLOYD GUITARIST HELPS HOMELESS
Big-hearted PINK FLOYD guitarist DAVE GILMOUR has pumped $5.4 million (GBP3.6 million) into an "urban village" for the homeless in London.
The DARK SIDE OF THE MOON star sold his Maida Vale, London home of 20 years to EARL SPENCER - brother of the late PRINCESS DIANA - in 2001 and is channelling some of the proceeds into a 400-house development.
British charity CRISIS is building amenities for homeless people and low-income workers, using a similar scheme in New York as a model.
Gilmour says, "I thought it would be a good thing to do. I had owned the house for 20 years and it made me a fat profit.
"I have scarcely used it in the last six or seven years. You can't seriously live in more than one house - everything else is just a holiday home."
