PHARRELL WILLIAMS - PHARRELL: 'I NEVER WANTED TO GO SOLO'

Grammy award-winning producer/songwriter PHARRELL WILLIAMS had no intention of launching a solo career until he composed tracks so good he couldn't bear to give them away.

Williams, along with his NEPTUNES partner CHAD HUGO, has produced chart-topping songs for BRITNEY SPEARS, NELLY and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE.

And he was too busy having fun with other people's albums to think about making his own until he began writing the material which would become upcoming disc IN MY MIND.

He says, "I never wanted to do a solo record.

"Before this album I just did things that were fun and things to express myself.

"But then I woke up one day and I had four records that I felt compelled to put out myself, so I was like 'Oh s**t, it looks like I'm doing an album,' so I ended up doing an album."
