PETER JACKSON - PETER JACKSON TOO BIG FOR EVEREST
OSCAR-winning director PETER JACKSON has dismissed claims by son of mountaineer SIR EDMUND HILLARY that he agreed to make a biographical film of his fathers famous 1953 ascent of Mount Everest.
PETER HILLARY insists that Jackson agreed to look at the film after he had finished with his LORD OF THE RINGS epic trilogy.
Hillary says, "I went along and spoke to Peter Jackson to talk about a biographical feature film about Dad basically climbing Mount Everest.
"It was at the time he (Jackson) was starting the Lord of the Rings and he said he had rather a lot on his plate at the time but he thought he might look at it at some other stage."
A spokesperson for Jackson dismissed the claims joking, "He's making a mountain out of a very small molehill," and insisting that Jackson's film company WINGNUT FILMS was, "in no way affiliated" with the film.
Peter Jackson is currently working on a re-make of the 1933 classic KING KONG.
