Actress GWYNETH PALTROW worries about the state of the planet her daughter APPLE is inheriting.

The SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW star, 32, is deeply concerned about US President GEORGE W BUSH's refusal to partake in the Kyoto Treaty, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the increasing levels of pollution on the Earth.

Paltrow explains, "I worry about things such as George W Bush having gone back on the Kyoto Treaty and all the mercury that's been dumped into the lakes and the oceans, and the ozone layer depleting, and the forests being chopped down to find more oil.

"I really worry about the state of the planet and I wish everyone would make a concerned effort not to trash it.

"I just wonder what Earth will be like when Apple's a grandmother."
