American opera star ANNA MOFFO died on Friday (10MAR06). She was 73. The Grammy-nominated singer, who was regarded as the star of New York City's Metropolitan Opera for two decades during the 1960s and 1970s, passed away following a stroke. The soprano also enjoyed a success film career and was particularly popular in Italy where she hosted the THE ANNA MOFFO SHOW from 1960 to 1973.
