THE CITY - NIXON + HENNESSY FOUGHT ANDERSON FOR SCULLY

SEX + THE CITY star CYNTHIA NIXON and CROSSING JORDAN actress JILL HENNESSY were among those considered for the role of AGENT DANA SCULLY in THE X-FILES before GILLIAN ANDERSON landed the cult part.

Hennessy, who befriended Anderson during the audition process, was with the red-head when she learned she's won the role of a lifetime.

She recalls, "She gave me a ride back from the audition in the convertible she rented. We were listening to NINA SIMONE when she said, 'I don't know if I'm supposed to tell anybody, but they just told me that I got the part.'"
