R+B sensation NE-YO's hit single SO SICK is a love song dedicated to his first girlfriend, who he still regrets cheating on.

The singer/songwriter, real name SHAFFER SMITH, penned the broken heart tune after his first love split up with him when she discovered he had been unfaithful.

He reveals, "It's about the first girl I ever fell in love with and the way that I completely screwed that up by letting my friends convince me to cheat on her. It was a bad, bad thing.

"I was real messed up about it for a real long, long time, so actually writing that song was very therapeutic for me."
