CERYS MATTHEWS - MATTHEWS: I DRANK TO LOWER VOICE
Ex-CATATONIA singer CERYS MATTHEWS has explained why she developed a problem with alcoholism - because she thought booze would improve her singing voice.
The Welsh woman, who is currently preparing a new solo career after splitting from the ROADRAGE rockers, is now drink-free after admitting she had become an alcoholic - but Matthews explains her original motives were purely professional.
She says, "I believe that alcohol would help lower my voice. I didn't want such a high voice."
