Pop legend MADONNA has delighted fans by asking superstar BRITNEY SPEARS to repeat their notorious lesbian kiss for her RE-INVENTION tour.

The blonde beauties loved the controversy their first homosexual snog caused at last summer's (29AUG03) MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS and are desperate to recreate the infamous performance at the HOLLYWOOD singer's New York concert on Wednesday (16JUN04) - if Spears recovers from her knee injury.

A close source reveals, "Britney was delighted when Madonna asked her if she could join her on stage. She agreed to do it immediately. Their people have been faxing and emailing non-stop to sort things out. Everything was confirmed last week.

"Britney was gutted when she had her fall during her video shoot last week (08JUN04). It was pretty serious. But she promised to do her best to be there on the night at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN. She just won't be able to do strenuous dancing."

Spears fell during her OUTRAGEOUS music video in New York on Tuesday night (08JUN04) and was taken to hospital twice to undergo arthroscopic surgery to remove cartilage in her left knee.
