GONG LI - LI TERRIFIED OF SCRIPTLESS ROLE

Chinese actress GONG LI was terrified when she realised she had to act in sci-fi movie 2046 without a script.

The 30-year-old star, who plays evil HATSUMOMO in MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA, only decided to brave the challenge because of her faith in 2046 director WONG KAR-WEI.

She tells movie magazine Empire, "I'd never worked without a script before. It felt very dangerous.

"But I would do anything for Wong Kar-Wei.

"That film gave me a lot of confidence."
