ASHTON KUTCHER - KUTCHER MAKES RACE COMEDY AFTER BEING TARGETED BY DIDDY'S PALS

ASHTON KUTCHER hopes his new comedy GUESS WHO will make racists realise how stupid they are because he has witnessed the colour divide throughout his life.

In the film - a twisted remake of SPENCER TRACY classic GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER - he plays an African-American girl's white boyfriend who tries to convince his future in-laws that colour means nothing when you're in love.

Kutcher saw bigotry at its worst when he was a kid growing up in Iowa - and more recently when he and SEAN 'P DIDDY' COMBS became best pals - and he hopes the movie makes bigots think twice about their racist beliefs.

He says, "The idea (for the film) really came from when I was spending time with Sean Combs, and people couldn't figure out why the two of us were hanging out together.

"They were like, 'What's going on with these two? Why would this hip-hop guy from New York City and this farm kid from Iowa be hanging out?' They couldn't really look past the race line.

"Even some of his friends said to me, 'Look, I don't know what you're up to, but he's a good guy.' I was like, 'Look, we're just friends.'

"So I did this movie with the hope of changing people's minds. If maybe I can break down some sort of racial barrier in the most minute way, then I can really feel good about what I've done."

Kutcher also admits he made Guess Who with an old school pal in mind: "Where I grew up, we had one black girl in my school. She left within a month because it wasn't a friendly environment for her."
