BILLY JOEL - JOEL MOVES NEXT DOOR TO HIS EX

Music stalwart BILLY JOEL has rented a house across the street from his former flame CAROLYN BEEGAN.

The UPTOWN GIRL star split from the red-headed artist four years ago, but friends believe Joel still hankers after her and he has now moved opposite her in Sag Harbor, New York.

A spokesman for local website iHAMPTONS.COM says, "The two houses are so close that Mr Joel and Ms Beegan can see into each other's windows."

But Joel's spokeswoman says the proximity of his $90,000 (GBP60,000) rental is just a coincidence, adding, "It's near where his daughter lives."
