GOOD CHARLOTTE - JOEL MADDEN TO MAKE MOVIE DEBUT

GOOD CHARLOTTE rocker JOEL MADDEN is following in girlfriend HILARY DUFF's footsteps by taking his first steps into acting.

The GIRLS AND BOYS singer is planning to take acting advice from Duff - who has also forged a successful pop career - when he begins work on gritty drama VALLEY OF THE DAMNED, which is being touted as a TRAINSPOTTING for the new millennium.

Madden tells MTV, "She'll probably help coach me along. I really do respect her work, so she's someone who will help me when I ask her questions. I'll say, 'How did you do that?', and she'll tell me."
