JAMELIA - JAMELIA OPENS UP ABOUT ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP

Singer JAMELIA was terrified her abusive ex-boyfriend was going to damage the pair's unborn baby - although he was careful to avoid beating her stomach.
The British R+B star - who sang about her experiences in hit single THANK YOU - suffered at the hands of her ex-boyfriend while pregnant with daughter TEJA, and she lived in terror her vicious partner would harm her unborn kid.
Jamelia, 23, says, "He didn't hit me in the stomach - it was usually around my face and on my arms - but I was terrified my unborn baby would be harmed.
"It was awful - I still don't know why I put up with it.
"He never put me in hospital, but he hurt me a lot and I couldn't seem to say anything to stop him."
Besides dealing with an abusive relationship, Jamelia also feared her music career would prematurely end once her record company discovered in 2000 she was four-and-a-half months pregnant.
She adds, "Luckily, they were really supportive, but I was advised to make sure my boyfriend was with me whenever I went out.
"They wanted the public to see I was in a loving relationship.
"I even released a statement to the press, saying, 'We're really happy about the baby,' when in reality, he was making my life hell."
