MICHAEL JACKSON - JACKSON ENCOURAGES ANTI-EMINEM PROTEST
Troubled superstar MICHAEL JACKSON encouraged a group of fans to protest against MTV's decision to keep broadcasting EMINEM's controversial JUST LOSE IT video outside the network's New York studios yesterday (11NOV04).
The self-proclaimed King of Pop's phonecall to FOX NEWS reporters was put through live speakers in Times Square, as 20 fans slammed the rapper for mocking Jackson in his latest video.
Last month (OCT04) American network BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION (BET) pulled the promo, which features Eminem dressed as Jackson, jumping around on a bed with young children, out of respect to Jackson.
In the phonecall yesterday, Jackson said, "It's demeaning and disrespectful.
"And I also want to make it clear that it's not just about Michael Jackson but about a pattern of disrespect that he has shown to our community. He needs to stop it, and he needs to stop it now.
"I love them (his fans) so much."
Despite Jackson's pleas, MTV has refused to remove the video from its channels.
