PRETENDERS - HYNDE SQUIRMS AT HALL OF FAME HONOUR
THE PRETENDERS star CHRISSIE HYNDE has dismissed her 2005 Rock + Roll Hall of Fame induction honour - because the evening reminded her of one of her father's bowling prize-giving ceremonies. The BRASS IN POCKET singer admits she struggled with the honour. She says, "The whole idea of getting into a rock band was so you'd never have to be in any kind of hall of fame at all. It smacks of one of my dad's bowling trophies." Hynde admits the only highlight of the evening came when NEIL YOUNG got up to honour her band. She adds, "That was the good part. It was absolutely amazing. I mean, getting to play with Neil; it was worth 25 years of playing for that moment."
