Classic 1978 horror movie HALLOWEEN has been named the scariest movie ever in a new poll by sci-fi magazine SFX.
The British publication surveyed film fans to discover which movie terrified cinema audiences the most and found the JAMIE-LEE CURTIS-starring thriller the most fearsome.
The magazine's STEVE O'BRIEN says, "Halloween is the daddy of the genre and has set the mark for horror movies for the last 20 years. It kick-started the modern idea of horror."
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, released in 1968, was a close second, followed in third place by 1963's THE HAUNTING.
