Actress GRETCHEN MOL has signed up to play BETTIE PAGE in biopic on the legendary pin-up.

THE BALLAD OF BETTIE PAGE will start filming in New York on Monday (05APR04).

Director MARTIN SCORSESE had hoped to make a movie on Page's life with LIV TYLER back in 1999, but it never came to fruition.

The Ballad of Bettie Page will chart the most successful pinup model of the 1950s, whose kinky bondage pictures made her the target of an American government pornography investigation.
