HUGH GRANT - GRANT BLASTED BY ANGRY NEWSPAPER

Actor HUGH GRANT has been viciously attacked by British newspaper DAILY MIRROR for refusing to talk to journalists at the BRIDGET JONES: THE EDGE OF REASON premiere.
The Mirror has labelled the movie hunk "sulky" and "whingeing" for ignoring the questions fired at him during Tuesday's (09NOV04) London screening, insisting it's pathetic someone so blessed would ignore his celebrity duties.
And the newspaper's showbiz writers - 3am Girls JESSICA CALLAN, EVA SIMPSON and CAROLINE HEDLEY - are disgusted Grant is now shunning the limelight and complaining about fame, because he spent years desperately trying to garner big screen success.
The 3am Girls are also furious Grant has turned his back on the British public - because it was them who rushed to see him in 1994's FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL and ultimately rewarded him with a lucrative film career.
In a letter published in today's (11NOV04) edition, the 3am Girls write, "It's been 10 long years since Four Weddings And A Funeral made you a star and gave you a lifestyle and riches beyond most people's dreams. And for 10 long years, you've done nothing but moan about it.
"At the Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason premiere, you did your trademark sulky teenager routine (grow up, man, you're 44), snarling at photographers, playing hide-and-seek with your new girlfriend, the former Mrs JEMIMA KHAN, and whingeing about being 'harassed' at a party you're paid to attend.
"You were, sir, in your own vernacular, a complete a**e. Yet again, you moaned about how you hate acting, hate film-making and hate all the beastly attention.
"You bought 250 tickets for your 'closest' pals to attend the party - but with the way you carried on, we're surprised you have any mates left."
