GORILLAZ - GORILLAZ HINT AT LAS VEGAS STINT
LATEST: GORILLAZ mastermind DAMON ALBARN is planning to retire the animated band with a series of huge shows in entertainment mecca Las Vegas, Nevada. The DIRTY HARRY group, who performed a five night residency at Harlem's Apollo Theater in New York City last week (begs02APR06), looked set to step back from the limelight after Albarn expressed a desire to work on a new album with his band BLUR. However, the singer now hints he would love Gorillaz to go out in style with a stint in Las Vegas. He says, "There's a possibility of doing these shows one more time, in Las Vegas. But we're not sure when. I love the idea of Gorillaz - on their third-ever (set of gigs) - playing Vegas. And, of course, it'll be big and all bells and whistles. And then that's it." Fans hoping for a follow-up to the critically acclaimed album DEMON DAYS will still be disappointed. Albarn previously warned, "At the moment we're like, that's probably the last album we make, I don't think we could make a better album than Demon Days really, for what this is and how it works."
