PINK FLOYD - GILMOUR BACK AT NUMBER ONE

PINK FLOYD star DAVID GILMOUR has topped the British charts for the first time in 11 years. The veteran rocker reached number one with his solo album ON AN ISLAND, his first top spot since Pink Floyd's success with PULSE in 1995. Meanwhile flamboyant TV talent show contestant CHICO secured top spot in the singles charts for a second week with novelty debut IT'S CHICO TIME. The former goatherd, who failed to impress talent judges SHARON OSBOURNE, SIMON COWELL and LOUIS WALSH on British programme THE X FACTOR, beat Californian band ORSON, who jump three places to second with NO TOMORROW, and sexy girl band the PUSSYCAT DOLLS, who drop down one place to third with BEEP. Pop trio SUGABABES are the highest new entry in the charts with RED DRESS entering in fourth place. Newcomer CORINE BAILY RAE rounds out the top five with PUT YOUR RECORDS ON.
