MEL GIBSON - GIBSON'S DAUGHTER TO WED

MEL GIBSON's daughter has apparently decided against becoming a nun - she's now engaged to be married.

In 2002, THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST director Gibson - a devout Catholic - expressed his pride at his then-21-year-old daughter's choice.

But now, at the age of 24, Hannah is preparing to walk down the aisle with her beau.

In an interview airing today (10MAR05), Gibson, who will celebrate his 25th wedding anniversary with wife ROBYN on 7 June (05), tells comedienne ELLEN DeGENERES of the proposal, "It was very romantic. The guy kinda did the whole thing.

"He actually came and asked for my advice when we were on a rooftop in Italy... I almost said yes!"
