DAVID GEST - GEST BELIEVES MINNELLI FELL DRUNK IN HER BATHROOM

DAVID GEST has aired his own opinion of the facts surrounding estranged wife LIZA MINNELLI's fall - he believes she took a drunken tumble in her bathroom.

Minnelli initially said she had been drinking when she took the nasty fall back in December (04), but later insisted she was completely sober at the time and merely fell over her pet dog as she got out of bed.

But Gest believes the CABARET star, who has had alcohol problems in the past, was just injured in an incident which he claims happened often while they were together.

In an interview on American TV show THE BIG IDEA WITH DONNY DEUTSCH he said, "You heard about her falling out of bed. Everybody knows about it and the bodyguard 'called 911'. All of a sudden she's drunk.

"I don't believe she fell out of bed. I think she feel in the bathroom where she's fallen many a time. But that doesn't matter where she fell. They found her; she'd been drinking."
