GEORGE MICHAEL has hit out at the contemporary pop scene, claiming the word has become a "byword for s**t".
The former WHAM! star insists he has nothing against the genre - only what it now represents.
He says, "I'm not anti-pop. I'm pop, Motown was pop, but it just seems sad that these days pop has become a byword for s**t."
