FRANZ FERDINAND - FRANZ FERDINAND AND DEATH CAB TEAM UP FOR TOUR

Rockers FRANZ FERDINAND and DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE will tour America together, after discovering they share the same musical philosophy.

The bands are both nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the Grammy Awards ceremony taking place next Wednesday (08FEB06), and they will hit the road on 22 March (06) in Oregon.

Death Cab For Cutie bassist NICK HARMER says, "The co-headlining thing is just to let people know we will be playing sets of equal length.

"We were like 'Why don't we tour with another big band and see how it goes?"

"The Franz Ferdinand guys all seem to be very much in line with how we feel about rock 'n' roll. Some people like to be called rock stars. To us, if you're called a rock star, that's an insult."
