MEAT PUPPETS - FORMER MEAT PUPPETS STAR GETS 21 MONTHS IN JAIL

Former MEAT PUPPETS bassist CRIS KIRKWOOD has been sentenced to 21 months in an Arizona federal prison - after a heated dispute over a parking space.

The BACKWATER singer entered a guilty plea at the US DISTRICT COURT in May (04) to assault with a dangerous weapon, after hitting a post office security guard with his own baton in Phoenix in December (03).

The fight left Kirkwood, who received his sentence yesterday (02AUG04), with a bullet wound in his stomach.
