COLIN FARRELL poked fun at his womanising reputation on American comedy show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE over the weekend (11DEC04), by showing cast regulars how to woo the girls.

And he used newly single teen LINDSAY LOHAN to make his point.

The Irishman, who was guest hosting the show, told his castmates, "Women respond to a personal fragrance; mine is cigarette breath and whisky."

Then, addressing comedian SETH MEYERS, Farrell suggested, "Seth, get a tattoo of any Chinese character. When a girl asks you what it means, look her in the eye and say, 'Fate.'"

He then advised other SNL regulars to "get an accent" and "throw out a wide net", adding, "For every movie star I sleep with I also sleep with 10 or 20 that are just pretty. Practice makes perfect."

He then picked Lohan out of the audience, and, after the SNL comedians made a mess of chatting the MEAN GIRLS star up, Farrell simply said, "Lindsay."

The lovestruck actress simpered, and then said, "I'll be in your dressing room."

Farrell completed his first SNL guest hosting stint by playing U2's BONO, a TV news reporter, a square New York trouser salesman and one half of a couple of sexual swingers in comedy skits.
