Sexy actress EVA MENDES hated shooting scenes in New York's Hudson River for her new film HITCH because she was sure she would pick up a nasty disease from the murky waters.

The 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS star plays WILL SMITH's love interest in the new comedy and had to jet-ski on the Hudson during one pivotal scene.

She says, "I'm still concerned. What's gonna pop up? What's kind of simmering? What kind of rash is gonna break out?

"The water's just black, practically, and I was so scared... Of course, there aren't sharks in the Hudson, but at the time I was having JAWS flashbacks from when I was a little girl."
