ROLAND EMMERICH - EMMERICH SLAMS CAMERON'S TITANIC

Hollywood director ROLAND EMMERICH has slammed fellow disaster movie director JAMES CAMERON for the "cheesy" dialogue of his big-budget romance TITANIC.
THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW director complains that Cameron's 1998 OSCAR-winning blockbuster was "like a bad romance novel", although he praises ROY BAKER's 1958 depiction of the infamous shipwreck, A NIGHT TO REMEMBER.
The 48-year-old German filmmaker says, "A Night To Remember is a very elegant movie that I first saw on TV when I was young but it still made a lot of impact.
"I prefer it to Titanic, which may have been one of the best structured movies I have seen, but the dialogue was so cheesy that it was more like a bad romance novel."
