Controversial rapper EMINEM is famed for his outrageous behaviour, but has been showing his softer side of late with a series of generous charity donations.

Ever since he made it big with his SLIM SHADY alter-ego, the JUST LOSE IT star has been donating large chunks of his fortune to help the disadvantaged in his home city of Detroit, Michigan.

Now Eminem has turned his attention to New York where the MARSHALL MATHERS FOUNDATION recently gave $50,000 (GBP28,000) to the Fresh Start program at Rikers Island prison. The money will pay for vocational training and job placement services for prisoners who are due to be released, reports PAGESIX.COM.
