ELTON JOHN - ELTON JOHN SLAMS BORING OSCARS

Flamboyant rocker ELTON JOHN launched a scathing attack on Sunday's (29FEB04) ACADEMY AWARDS - labelling the event "boring".

The CROCODILE ROCK singer entertained dozens of a-listers at his annual post-awards bash at PEARL restaurant and nightclub on West Hollywood's North Robertson Boulevard.

John moans, "It was the most boring Oscars I have ever seen."

And the pop legend slammed fellow Brit ANNIE LENNOX's Oscar win as undeserving for INTO THE WEST.

John says, "I thought there might be one surprise in the song category, but even there LORD OF THE RINGS won. And I don't think it deserved to."
