ELIJAH WOOD - ELIJAH WOOD WANTS TO MAKE SMALLER MOVIES

Hollywood actor ELIJAH WOOD wants to appear in smaller films after his experiences in the OSCAR-winning trilogy LORD OF THE RINGS.

The actor, 23, is currently shooting a $6.3 million (GBP3.5 million) movie in London called THE YANK - a world away in film terms from the $3 billion-grossing epic trilogy from director PETER JACKSON.

Wood comments, "I've always wanted to keep doing different things.

"After the trilogy my initial feelings was I didn't ever want to be part of a big movie again, though it was the greatest experience of my life.

"When you commit such a large portion of your life, time and energy to something it is exhausting.

"I want to go back to basics - do something a bit less epic."
