DOWNFALL - EICHINGER PLANS TERRORISM FILM

DOWNFALL producer BERND EICHINGER is to turn his attention from ADOLF HITLER's life to another shameful part of German history - terror group the Red Army Faction.

The movie-maker is working with journalist STEFAN AUST on the script for a film version of the latter's best-selling book THE BAADER-MEINHOFF GROUP: THE INSIDE STORY OF A PHENOMENON which explores postwar Western Germany's most active left-wing terrorism organisation.

He says, "It's a very exciting project and it's going to be a film of the same scale as (Hitler biopic) Downfall.

"In fact, the subject matter is likely to ruffle even more feathers than Downfall. This is a chapter in German history that's not really been dealt with and a lot of historical facts are only being discovered or disclosed now."
