EHUD MANOR DIES
Legendary Israeli songwriter and poet EHUD MANOR has died after suffering a heart attack. He was 64.
The ISRAEL PRIZE laureate wrote lyrics to over 1,000 songs and translated the musical CHICAGO - turned into an OSCAR-winning film starring RENEE ZELLWEGER and CATHERINE ZETA-JONES in 2002 - into Israeli.
Manor's most famous song, I HAVE NO OTHER COUNTRY, is played at Israel's national independence day and memorial day celebrations.
Manor, who successfully recovered from lung cancer in 2000, is survived by his wife, three children and grandchildren.
