BOB DYLAN - DYLAN, HENDRIX AND MCCARTNEY MEMORABILIA AUCTIONED

BOB DYLAN's student poetry and a medallion worn by legendary singer/guitarist JIMI HENDRIX are to be auctioned in New York this November (05).
A drum used by former BEATLE SIR PAUL McCARTNEY will also go under the hammer at Christie's, along the handwritten lyrics by THE DOORS frontman JIM MORRISON.
But Dylan's poetry is expected to attract most interest after a recent MARTIN SCORSESE documentary, NO DIRECTION HOME, highlighted his place in music history.
The rare manuscripts, which make up 16 pages, date from his student days at the University of Minnesota.
A Christie's spokesperson says, "While some of the poems are rooted in his daily university life and reference his Jewish heritage with Yiddish phrases, the wit and irony pervasive in his later songwriting are already evident."
The poems are expected to fetch between $60,000 (GBP33,300) and $80,000 (GBP44,400).
