Pop star JANET JACKSON realised how much boyfriend JERMAINE DUPRI loved her when she put on weight for a film role. The ALL FOR YOU singer gained 60 pounds (27 kilograms) to prepare for a movie role and admits she became embarrassed by her new, larger size. She explains, "I would look in the mirror and not recognise myself. Jermaine was incredibly supportive. "I've never had someone love me for me, so unconditionally, the way he does, regardless of my size. "He was never any different toward me. I would get embarrassed and he would look at me and smile and tell me he loved me. It was the sweetest thing." Other work commitments meant Jackson had to eventually pull out of the project and the singer is now back to her normal weight after an intensive diet and exercise programme. She adds, "Jermaine is proud of me for reaching my goal, and I thank him for being so supportive."
