XZIBIT - DRE + XZIBIT WIN PLAGIARISM BATTLE

A Philadelphia, Pennsylvania songwriter has been heavily penalised for bringing a false plagiarism claim against hip-hop heavyweights XZIBIT and DR DRE.

MICHAEL LOWE's copyright infringement lawsuit against the rappers was thrown out of a federal appeals court in Philadelphia on Wednesday (23MAR05), with a judge calling the action "frivolous".

Lowe claimed he created the beats for a track on Xzibit's RESTLESS album, which is credited to Dr Dre.

Lowe will now have to pay Dr Dre's legal fees and court costs.
