Former heroin addict DR JOHN has blasted many of the record companies he's worked with, because they sought to exploit him when he was incapacitated by drugs.

The SUCH A NIGHT star - now clean - battled a drug problem for years and was frequently taken advantage of by unscrupulous music executives.

Dr John, 64, says, "Record companies love junkies to work with. They could f**k you over any way they wanted to.

"You name 'em, they did it. So much c**p happens.

"I can remember the ones that looked out for me, I could count them on one hand."
