THE LIBERTINES - DOHERTY: 'I'LL RETURN TO THE LIBERTINES IF I'M ASKED'
Estranged THE LIBERTINES frontman PETE DOHERTY has appealed on British television to be allowed to return to the band.
The singer - who was forced to quit the group in May (04) after failing to overcome addictions to heroin and crack cocaine - told BBC TWO news programme NEWSNIGHT he would reunite with former bandmates CARL BARAT, JOHN HASSALL and GARY POWELL, if they asked him.
Doherty - who is currently performing with side project BABYSHAMBLES - told presenter KIRSTY WARK last night, "I've made attempts to talk to him (Barat). He doesn't want to know at the moment. When His Lordship is ready to talk to me, I'll still be here. If I'm still able bodied I'll play.
"Each man kills the things he loves. I recognise that in myself, in relationships, even with guitars, beautiful things that I've had and wilfully destroyed."
