SNOOP DOGG - DOGG SUES OVER 'ASSAULT' THREATS

Rapper SNOOP DOGG has filed a lawsuit that claims a woman and her lawyers demanded $5 million (GBP2.63 million) to keep quiet about an alleged assault against her.
The GIN + JUICE star, whose real name is CALVIN BROADUS, filed his suit at a Los Angeles courthouse on 10 December (04), in which he denies being involved in the reported attack at a 2003 concert.
Dogg has accused the woman - her identity is protected by the name 'Jane Doe' - and her attorneys of threatening to sell details of the reported attack to American magazine THE NATIONAL MAGAZINE and a book publisher if he refused to pay the $5 million ransom.
Lawyers acting for the hip-hop star are seeking punitive damages and an assurance there will be no more threats.
