The Walt Disney Co. board of directors has given CEO Robert Iger the go-ahead
to make an offer to buy Pixar Animation Studios, and an official announcement
is expected as early as today (Tuesday), Reuters reported today, citing a
source familiar with the matter. The wire service also reported that the board
is expected to officially consider the final deal later today. Last week, the
Wall Street Journal reported that an all-stock transaction was in the
works.
